This second version of my "KillerBee" Miata had an interesting beginning. She was purchased as a low mileage stock Sunburst Yellow Miata from a sheriff in Houston Texas who's office was directly across from the Astro's ballpark. We could view my St. Louis Cardinals playing their opening day game there that evening from his office. The Astros stars were called the Killer Bees (Biggio, Bagwell, and Berkman) and the Cardinals ended up playing the Astros for the National League Championship. By that time the KillerBee stripes and logos were emblazoned on my "KillerBee" and although our St. Louis fans are considered very good sports, I decided it wouldn't be a wise idea to drive to the game and park on a lot a car that originated in Houston and appeared to celebrate the opposing team's star players.
Although the "KillerBee" has a long list of mods including a Flyin' Miata II turbo, FM front and rear sway bars, FM strut tower brace, and several other braces, it has not been tracked and has served us well on Miata club runs and events, car shows, and weekend trips.
The "Bee" has a new radiator, new Flyin' Miata clutch/flywheel "Happy Meal," new BC coilovers, and new Yokohama rubber. Simpson Design supplied a short shifter and rare Aero rear bumper cover that really improved the lines of the car. There are a number of chrome items and rare polished vent balls. She has 15" Chaparral wheels painted yellow with machined lips and lipstick red brake calipers. Nardi supplied the tactile Wood/polished steering wheel. Voodoo Bob from San Diego supplied the shifter knob and floor mats. The stripes are painted and the logos are vinyl. The cow and dog did most of the work on the car ;)
I will let a few pictures tell the rest of the story.
