Black Eyed Betty used to run the Georgia asphalt under the name Black Betty. She had a mild motor, and was a blast to drive but needed some extra TLC. Since her move to Texas she has has 3 different engines, new make up and added some trophy bling to her wardrobe. Currently the engine is 13.25:1 high compression with a Keegan Engineering head and Jenvey ITB's.
She was originally all Flat Black and she's always been without the windshield. Once a codriver locked up the Hoosiers at an event, someone said it looked like a BBQ pit smoking a brisket. Since then I had to redo a few things and make her my own.
So some Ford Titanium Grey Metallic and vinyl was added to change her up but we always kept Black Betty as the name...until. An event unfolded that caused her to be mad at the world and a nut came loose from the IAT and rolled down into the ITB'S. Unknowingly one of the horns had broken and allowed a direct path under the butterflies and full throttle she went off into the distance. She missed a tree by mere millimeters and jumped the berm, clearing a 4ft fence, and landing in a neighboring area.
Needless to say she took it quite well. With great friends who put in the time and others who sold me parts at friend prices she was back on the road in 3 weeks for less than $40.00. But, we definitely had to change her name since she got punched in the eye... So Black Eyed Betty she became.
