Featuring a GM Ecotec 2.4 engine with 190hp and 191 lb ft torque.
The goal of the Eunos Manticore SE build was to create my interpretation of a Mazda Special Edition model. The project is a slow motion build due to my wife having health issues. The rear end is complete and features a Garage Vary rear panel with 1960 Thunderbird tail lights, Mazdaspeed A-Spec Type II wing with a center support, Craftman lawntractor functional bumper vents, and Magnaflow exhaust. The interior is complete except a rollbar. The interior features leather seats, some old school faux woodgrain, stock steering wheel and instrument cluster to make it look factory, Roadster door sills, and a Flyin Miata floor mounted fire extinquisher. The hood has Pontiac Sunbird vents. All Miata emblems have been removed to add Eunos branding.
Some Flyin Miata parts I already have that will be installed: V8 sway bar and braces to clear the GM Ecotec pulley, V8 radiator to change the coolant outlet sides and improve cooling.
Key items yet to be completed: Finish painting and installing all the Mazdaspeed A-Spec body parts that I have. Suspension and brakes. Rollbar. 6-Speed transmission. Revise the cooling system. Repair the air conditioning. Re-route brake lines from heat sources due the Ecotec exhaust being on the other side.
My old guy bucket list is to attend "Miatas at the Gap" and do a track day. Maybe even attend the Flyin Miata event.
