The M4 got some solid looks at the Ferrada wheels sponsored meet.
Heavily modded BMW M4 with some standout red rims and an airlift suspension system letting the car relax just a hair off the ground when parked. A true OEM+ ride with only minimal exterior upgrades, but with upgraded turbos and a tuned ECU spitting out through VRSF catless downpipes this M4 is a screamer.
With Viair compressors in the rear, the custom airlift suspension takes the M4 all the way to the ground. The wheels sit just inside the wheel-well at the lowest point, hiding the tops of them and making the overall stance mean and lean. The Air Lift Performance 3P management system handles the ride height and comes with an app that lets you control the system. It also will automatically lift the car to ride height at engine start, keeping the car functional even with the stanced look. The suspension (bags) are the BMW M4 F82 direct fit struts from Air Lift. A custom hard line trunk setup with a powder coated 3 gallon air tank matches the Ferrada Rouge Wheel Finish because you can't have your suspension tank clashing with your wheels.
The suspension was tuned by Back Yard Auto in Houston to match my driving style and needs. The adjustable dampers and camber plates on the Air Lift System really helps retain performance and driver experience despite going to air ride. A big concern for many M4 drivers looking to upgrade.
Other upgrades are Pure Stage 2+ turbos, tuned with the BootMod3 platform. The custom 93 octane tune is by Cary Jordan. I’ve also added the Wagner Tuning cooling upgrades to help maintain performance under heavy loads or Hot Houston summers. The crank hub was addressed using the MaxPSI keyed crank hub to ensure I can safely perform without having an engine failure.
I also upgraded the air in takes to a RK Tunes front mount intake that sits just behind the kidney grills. The intakes are paired with RK Tunes charge pipes to handle the higher boost levels. All this comes together to push 627 hp / 617 ft-lbs of torque on the dyno.
The exhaust is VRSF catless down pipes, active autowerke mid-pipe (gen 1), and a Remus Sport Exhaust axel back with their carbon fiber tips.
There are lots of visual mods, but what stands out to most people is the “forged” carbon body kit. The front lip, splitters, side extensions, and rear diffuser are all custom made forged carbon from RW Carbon. The headlights were converted to a LED switch back by mod emporium. They also were blacked out for a more menacing look
The interior carbon pieces were converted to forged to match by Dinnman. This includes a custom steering wheel.
The 5-bar, double spoked Ferrada F8-FR5 rims add color contrast to the gray exterior and additional performance by striping unnecessary weight from the car. These rims add a mix of form and function with extensive undercuts to reduce weight and create clean styled lines. The double-dip center adds clearance for the substantial M4 brake calipers.
This M4 has the joy of switching between shoes - either the Ferradas or BC Forged HT01 in Royal Gold. Both sets make the car appear very different despite being very similar split spoke patterns. The wheel setups were chosen with the most aggressive fitment in mind. I wanted to be able to air out and not fit a business card between the wheel and fender. Of course you cannot roll a Bimmer fender so wheel offset and tire size was key. Both sets of wheels run 305/30/20 on the rear and 275/30/20 on the front
