This gold beauty changed hands in November of 2018 as a bit of a fixer upper. The pickup process was somewhat precarious as it required a 3 hour drive back home and it wasn't obvious the car was going to make it. Thankfully she did, and has since then been a great project. After a lot of TLC and work, and replacing almost half of the stuff on the car, she's getting back to tip top condition and running great. "Stacey", got her name in reference to the popular 90's song Stacys Mom by Fountains of Wayne. Even though she's a pain in the ass to keep up, it's always worth the time and money to drive around in this classic.
The 1982 marked the last year of a generation of corvettes as the final year of the C3. These models saw the debut of the "cross-fire injection' for fuel delivery, which mixed the two throttle bodies with Chevy's control system to manage fuel flow. The specs for the year were 200 original horsepower matched with a new 4 speed automatic. Performance numbers put the car at around 7.9s for 0-60 and 16.1s for the quarter-mile. A great vehicle that closed out an incredible run for Chevy.
