My husband and I purchased this truck from a man in Texas named Mark Steven. He purchased it from the original owner's granddaughter. Mr Steven grow up in Minnesota down the road from the original owners and as a young child he remembers when they bought the truck new. It went from the original owner, to his son/granddaughter to Mr Steven then to us. We are the 4th owners of the pickup.
The vehicle had been stored in a garage for over 30 years (1981 to 2018) in Minnesota when Mr. Steven purchased it from the granddaughter (a close family friend). He replaced only the parts that were in need or replacement after sitting for 30 years, but kept the original parts (brake shoes, brake drums, rubber hoses, fuel pump, plugs, wires and thermostat) that we now have.
The truck or ED as we named it is all original. It's so original that it still has the original Minnesota license plate, Owner's Manual, lock for the spare tire, tune up kit, the original owner's sunglasses and a calendar book from 1932 in the glove box that they used to keep records of maintenance. It had about 12,000 miles on it when we purchased it a few months ago.
We drive it every weekend to get ice cream or pick up a pizza or go to the farmer's market. Ed is a true time machine with its 5.36 gears and 3 speed its max speed is about 45 mph, but we do not mind ""taking it slow"" on the back roads. It gives us an opportunity to wave at people and have fun as a family together.
