1. Space City Cruisers Classic Car Show (League City, TX)
Event Timing: Late-October every year. See website here
Space City Cruisers was established in 1995, and in 2020 celebrated their 25th year. Their car event is not just about showcasing the best classic cars in the area, but also about giving back to the community. Since the first year of Space City Cruisers, the event has been supporting various causes aimed at supporting young people.
The first was the Clear Lake Community, and presently they support the Texas Lions Camp for disabled children, as well as various youth scholarships. It’s just $30 to register for this show if you’re entering your car, and it runs from 7:00am to 3:30pm. Admission to spectators is absolutely free! Stick around at 3:30pm for the presentation of the awards! Check out the front line featured at the 2020 event below. Definitely an ecclectic mix up there.
At the show, you’ll see an incredible 37 classes of car and truck on display, so there’s a car for every fan. Those who tag along for the day out can enjoy arts and crafts vendors, raffles, great prizes and fantastic food and drink from local vendors.
2. Keels & Wheels Concours D’Elegance (Seabrook, TX)
Next Event: May 1-2, 2021 (normally in mid-October)
This event is held in love Seabrook, about 30 minutes out of Houston. Head to Lakewood Yacht Club Drive on either October 17 (10:00am to 5:00pm) or October 18 (09:00am to 4:00pm) for a great day of automotive and family fun. Admission is $40 at the gate ($30 advance online ticket) with discounts for students, and kid under 10 entering free.
This is the event where classic car and boat lovers meet, since the event has contests for both automobile and boat categories. Explore the concours to see the many models spanning decade after decade, many from local owners. The event is touted as the country's largest boat and car concours event, and brings about some incredible pieces of art.
This Houston classic car show is hosted in the perfect spot with lots of shade from the sun and green grass covered with cool cars right next to the Lakewood marina berths. This event is definitely worth the trip and admission.
The whole family can also enjoy great food, drink, as well as kids’ fun like face painting and balloon artists. Look out around 11am to midday for the RE/MAX skydiving team making an appearance! Like many other similar events, this one is also in the name of a good cause.
Come along to Concours D’Elegance to support three principal charities: Keels & Wheels, Today’s Harbor for Children, and Lighthouse Charity Team. What better way to support local causes and have a great family day out, too!
3. Exotics on Market Street (Houston, TX)

Is your family one of those with some who like the American classics, but others who love the stunning international supercars? Exotics on Market Street is run by Scuderia, and showcases the best of both worlds, including European exotics as well as European and American classic cars.
In fact, all manner of “rare and unique” machines, in their words, are welcome on this Saturday morning display. Displaying in the show is by invitation only, but admission for spectators is free and there’s ample garage parking nearby. This one’s for the real auto lovers; it’s a nice, small and simple event for those who are just in it for the cars.
4. Tomball Lions Club Annual Car Show (Tomball, TX)
Next Event: October 25, 2020
Anyone not able to wait for January’s Exotics on Market Street, or who wants something a bit larger and running for a full day, then this is the one. The Tomball Lions Club Annual Car Show is free to enter, running from 8:00am to 3:00pm, with prizes being awarded at 2:30pm. They’ve even set a backup date for November 1 just in case October 25 is a rainy one.
Even better, this one welcomes not only the classics that we all love, but all years and makes of car to come along. If you have something worthy of the car corral, then entry is a great-value $20. Before and after the corral, you can enjoy the fantastic local barbecue food and nice cool beverages, as well as Music by “JD” the DJ.
Pre-register your car entry now and save $5 at the $25 rate. It’s $30 if you register at the gate.
5. West Houston Muscle – All American Throwdown (Baytown, TX)
Next Event: January 23, 2021
For those of you with something of a love for good-old American muscle cars, this event is right up your street. Located in nearby Baytown, the All American Throwdown is being hosted at Houston Raceway Park and will feature a lifetime of muscle cars and endless horsepower and torque.
Get your tickets online for just $15, or at the gate for $20. What are you getting? The day will feature such highlights as a burnout contest, cruise in, and drag racing.
The gates open at 9:00pm, and the racing goes on until 4:00pm, so it’s a top day of fun for all. Learn more about the event, and the West Houston Muscle car club at their website.
6. Guitars and Cars (Houston, TX)

To see the unique combination of cars and airplanes, head to Hangar B5 (The Commemorative Air Force Hangar) at West Houston Airport each october. Supporting the noble cause of the local chapter of U.S. Vets, this event is a worthwhile, fun and exciting family event with cars, planes and live music.
Roll in from 9:00am to 12 noon and enjoy the car show that runs from 12:00 until 4:00pm. Awards will be given to the best cars between 4:00 and 5:00pm. Tickets are available online until October 13, and this year’s event is special because it marks the 10th year of the Guitars and Cars show in Houston.
The show is a reflection of Houston residents’ biggest loves --- nice cars, live music, food and drink, as well as good-old family fun. As a supporter of the vets, this is a great way to spend some of your weekend time and money!
