This tenth generation Skyline GTR comes to us from Japan in its original right hand drive layout. Stocked with a 2.6 L twin-turbo I6 engine that pushes 327 hp, this turn of the millennium car is a powerhouse. Exalted as the top of the line model for Nissan, these vehicles are a mix of Japanese precision manufacturing and performance tuning. From the front to the back, this car is a true enthusiast's vehicle.
The standard turbochargers were a hybrid steel and ceramic design that allowed them to spool up faster due to the ceramic being much lighter than the all steel version. Power was delivered to all four wheels using an electronically controlled AWD system Nissan dubbed ATTESA E-TS. The ATTESA E-TS system used two accelerometers mounted under the center console, which fed lateral and longitudinal inputs to the ECU. The ECU then controlled power delivery to the front wheels via an electronic torque split converter.
This specific vehicle was built as a V-spec Nismo trim, which added quite a few upgrades from the base GTR model. The additional aero that you can see on the back of the vehicle, the brake ventilation ducts, the front lowered diffuser and ALSD (limited slip differential) all came as part of that upgrade.
The rear wing is one of the more noticeable changes and it sticks about 4 inches off the rear trunk. The lip on this GTR wing is made of 2 pieces and you can see the tilted angle of the black part in relation to the core of the wing in blue. The Nismo and Vspec badging sits below the wing on opposite sides of the car. This model was still labelled both a Skyline and GTR. The next generation V35 would strip the GTR naming, which we would not see again until 2007.
The nismo badging is also on the caps of some of the internals in the engine compartment. The engine model is also clearly labelled 'RB26' - the version which powered many of the R34 models.
From the front you can see the additional diffuser at the bottom as well as the vented side panel that is an inlet for the brake cooling.
Looking from the side you can see the custom forged Nismo wheels that accompanied the other vehicle upgrades with the V-spec Nismo package.
